The Fortune Seekers is my first to be published novel. I include a brief synopsis of it.

The Fortune Seekers explores possible reasons, as discovered during a decade of ancestry research, into why immigrants made the move to Australia and New Zealand. These questions haven’t been asked within my own family, and have made me wonder about some big questions.Perhaps there are many Australian who also don’t know their background in the following areas:-

http://GlennisBrowne.wordpress.com

• Was it as simple as the possibility that immigrants possessed the gene of wanderlust?

• Not all early settlers in Australia were shipped out as prisoners going to the penal colony.

• Was there a sinister or serious reason for immigrants who chose to come, to do so? As to uproot a family and move o a pioneering country half the world away is not an every day decision.

In my research I discovered two possible reasons:-

1. Religious expectations of the era, that thinking people may not have been prepared to conform to. Leading to deep contemplation about individual Christian faith versus perceived established religious interpretations. Focusing on the non conformists in Calvinism in Great Britain.

2. Social and societies rules – such as marriage between first cousins, illegitimate births etc. The influence of Charles Darwin at the time.

From these suppositions my novel was birthed.
