What secrets were kept by the family, and why?

It’s encouraging when a new reader of my books reads the first book and can’t wait to continue on books 2 and 3, so she buys the ebooks because I’m not around at the time to give her the paperbacks. And then she stops me on the street urging me to complete the final book in the series because they are, in her words, “Amazing!”, I become super motivated.
Hint: do tell authors your enjoy their books as that is the best way to get more to read. And, please write a review where you bought them, or forward to the author.
We don’t write for the money as most authors earn a pittance. We write to entertain and encourage.

Seeing their newly published book is a thrill to the author. Holding a copy makes the years of writing and editing worth it.
Publicity is part of the process. Somehow authors need to get their names and books before the reading public.
The first two books set up the story, highlighting the issues our historical families faced. Life was a struggle. The 1800s was a time of struggle.

The third book bases the characters in Australia and New Zealand, where the pioneering families adjust to life in the colonies.

Entitled ‘Temperance’, the third book brings to light the problems families experience due to addictions.

As the twentieth century began, the focus narrowed within book four, ‘Secrets’, focusing on the buried history of a family throughout that century, where family relationships were breaking apart. What was the cause? Are behaviours genetically inherited?

Discover the secrets hidden in the first decade of the 1900s by a real family. How did family members deal with the truth of their past? Should secrets be kept to protect future generations? Or is openness and acceptance the better choice? You decide after reading these well-researched stories.
